Zappeio – Children’s Carnival
Sunday of Carnival is dedicated to children with a big costume party at the Zappeio.
A huge tented train will be set up with activities for children of all ages, while outside the party continues with karaoke, a DJ and child’s maypole for children and families.
The sound of the Athens Philharmonic Orchestra will keep the Carnivale spirit going.

Monday March 10 is Clean Monday, the day that Greeks of all ages traditionally head for the parks, beaches and hills with a kite and a picnic. Why not join in the fun? And of course, don’t forget to get yourself a kite, they’ll be for sale everywhere and head for the hill – Philopappou Hill, that is! Not only will you be rewarded with a marvelous view, the city of Athens also has some bonuses in store for everyone who ventures up the hill to fly a kite.

Bring your kite to Philopappou Hill and join in the fun and children of all ages continue the Greek tradition of kite flying on Clean Monday. Bands will perform traditional Greek music on a specially created stage throughout the day. Lagana (traditional bread), olives and halva will be offered to the participants, providing one more view and taste of Greece!
