Getting There
The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is situated within the archaeological site of the Sanctuary of Asklepios, in the Argolis prefecture of the Peloponnese. It is a half-hour drive from Nafplio and approximately two hours from Athens. To see a map of the area, click here.

By Bus (KTEL)
Specially scheduled buses make return trips to the theatre on performance days (Fridays and Saturdays).

From Athens: Buses depart at 16.00 (Journey Time: 2 hours), and return to Athens after performances. Tickets: €20

By Car
From Athens: Follow the signs for Corinth and exit the Athens-Corinth Motorway immediately after crossing the bridge over the Corinth Canal. Keep in the right-hand lane, pass underneath the Motorway, and then turn left onto the Corinth-Epidaurus B-road in the direction of Epidaurus. Follow the signs for the Epidaurus Ancient Theatre; in about an hour, having passed Nea Epidavros and Palea Epidavros, you arrive at the Lygourio crossroads; turn left here for the Sanctuary of Asklepios.

From Nafplion: Drive through Lygourio town and head for the archaeological site of the Sanctuary of Asklepios.

By Boat
Boats depart from Piraeus every Friday and Saturday in July (on performance days) at 17.00, and arrive at the harbour of Ancient Epidaurus at 19.30. Coaches shuttle passengers to and from the theatre. Boats depart for Piraeus after performances. A candle-lit dinner is served on the return journey, to the accompaniment of the boat’s orchestra. Buses to Piraeus can be taken from Klafthmonos Square (departure time: 16.20) and at the car park of Filellinon Street, on the corner with Xenokratous Street (departure time: 16.25).

Tickets: €60 (adults), €35 (children aged 3-10)
