Clytemnestra is one of the few full-length ballets by Martha Graham, and was first presented in 1958. It was the first contemporary choreodrama in two acts, plus a prologue and an epilogue. This play has been recognized as a true 21st century masterpiece.
In 2008, 50 years after the ballet\’s first official presentation, Clytemnestra will revive once more, with a world premiere in Athens, to mark the commencement of the Martha Graham Dance Company world tour in all major cities. The event will take place at the Athens Concert Hall on October 23-25.
Tickets go on sale October 2, 2008.
The shows in Greece are linked to a worthy cause. They support the work of the organization called \”Krikos Zois\” (Circle of Life), which aims to create the first mobile social market to assist indigent families by offering food, clothes, and other basic necessities.
