If you are planning on visiting Athens on June 21, 22 or 23, you will want to plan ahead and purchase tickets to the New Acropolis Museum by visiting their website at www.newacropolismuseum.gr and purchasing an e-ticket.
Tickets for June 21, 22 and 23 will be on sale from June 15, 2009 and are required for admission if you are planning to visit the museum on any of these 3 dates. If you will be visiting June 24, 2009 or later you can purchase the 1 euro ticket in person when you arrive at the museum.
NO TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE IN PERSON ON JUNE 21, 22, OR 23, YOU MUST BUY THESE TICKETS ONLINE BEGINNING JUNE 15, 2009.
I just called my pilot to warm up my private jet so I can join my Swiss compatriot architect in Athens for the opening of his masterpiece. O darn, I can’t, we have a recession going on!
Will it help to split the cost? You could pick me up in Chicago on the way there!
How do I get advancea tickets to Herodeon Theatre and Acropolis Museum? I will be in Athens July 24, 25, 26.
thanks
Hello,
Is Acropolis and its new museum open tis Panagias, August 15th?
Also, where can I buy tickets on line in advance prior to arriving in Greece next week?
Thanks.
Hi Timi
The Acropolis is open from 8 until 3 pm on August 15 (or so they say, perhaps they will stay open later, or close earlier, but for now that is the plan :-)
Tickets for the New Acropolis Museum (now just called the Acropolis Museum) are available online at this website:

Have a great time in Athens.
